Charlotte Restaurant Week

Can you believe I’m a Charlotte native and I’ve never been to Charlotte Restaurant Week? I can’t believe it either. Charlotte Restaurant Week is also known as Queen’s Feast. Participating restaurants offer a prix fixe menu for either $30 or $35 per person. It’s a great way to try something new at a cheaper price.

It was hard to pick a restaurant. So I narrowed it down to 10, then developed a top 5. I landed on McCormick and Schmick’s. It was already on my long list of dining spots to try. I ordered the crispy coconut shrimp, crab and shrimp stuffed salmon, and the peanut butter pie.

The vibe was relaxed and romantic. I loved the decor and lighting. The service was nice as well and I appreciated the valet parking. If you’re familiar with Charlotte, you know parking uptown can be a pain.

The appetizer was delicious. I wasn’t a fan of the salsa with the shrimp, but the shrimp was just right. The salmon wasn’t over-cooked. I would have liked it more if it had been cooked a little more. I focused on the stuffing and the sides - mashed potatoes and veggies. Surprisingly, I had enough room for dessert. The peanut butter pie was the perfect ending to a delicious meal.

Where should I go for the next Charlotte Restaurant Week?
