You were terrified of walking under the cupola.
Purple and gold became your favorite colors.
Anytime you heard the word purple your first instinct is to yell gold! And you still have the urge today.

Hanging out at the mall was like a mini family reunion on a regular basis.
You barely went to class on Friday, not because you didn't have class but because of college night.

Walking up the hill helped keep your young calves strong.
You knew just about everybody, even if you didn't know them personally, because the Pirate Nation is like family.
Ms. Bernice at the West End was basically your grandma away from home.
You sold your books back before exams because you have to celebrate and have fun to get good scores.
You waited to buy new ECU gear at the bookstore when there was a clearance sale.
You tailgated for breakfast on game days. There is absolutely nothing wrong with beer and BBQ before noon.
All of your friends who went to other schools could not wait to come to Greenville and party with you.
Halloween.
Starting the first day of school without going to Pirate Palooza just didn't feel right.
When you first got there, you walked up the Joyner steps to hear the piano.

You hated going to Walmart, but you never stopped going.
You only went to IHop on Tuesdays and Thursdays for the college discount.
Every semester, you promised not to run out of Pirate Bucks. But you did.
When you moved off campus, you missed being able to walk to the dining hall.
You shopped for parties, homecoming, and special events back home instead of the Greenville Mall because you knew someone else would have the same outfit.
You went on a free, low-key date to see a movie at Mendenhall.
You shook your head at Brother Ross.
After you graduate, you realize how expensive Chick-fil-A is without Pirate Bucks.
You often used the term Greenvillian.
You're overwhelmed with excitement when you see an ECU car decal.
When people find out you went to ECU, they put up their hook and, Arrrgh. But they never do it right.
When you first got to ECU and wanted to post Arrrgh on social media you didnt know if you should use 3 R's or 4.
You're still holding on to your Arrrrgh sweatpants.
HomECUming. You don't remember anything, but you know you participated.
I wrote this post so long ago that I don’t even remember some of the items on the list. I have a whole stack of blog posts that I’ve yet to publish for a multitude of reasons. This year, I’m writing and posting as much as possible because writing is my first love and one of my favorite things to do. I’ve set quite a few writing goals for myself, and I’m determined to accomplish them all. Also, I recently ran into a few fellow Pirates at Mad Miles Running Club, and we took this photo. Once a Pirate, Always a Pirate!
